This post is dedicated to my good friend Miss
Onakoya, who has decided to force me outside my comfort zone. Miss Onakoya well
done.. I shall not be forgetting this...
It has been 6 years since someone first told me
that I could start a blog, 4 since I decided to actually give it a go and 3 months since I became serious about it. Welcome to my thoughts. Now I know
there will be many questions after my dramatic intro, the top one why it took
me so long to do this and honestly I think the answer is “Fear”.
I have a big secret ok a not so big secret a few
people know and a few people just think it comes with me. In this case they are
right it does come with me. I am dyslexic. What does this mean, it means a lot
of different things and google will do a good job in explaining. But in my case
it means I struggle with reading, writing and spelling. Now I am not saying
this to get the sympathy vote, dyslexia is far more common than most people
realise just ask Jamie Oliver, Albert Einstein and Noble prize winner Pierre
Curie. It isn’t a big deal; it just means you have to work a little harder.
I am mentioning this so you can understand why I
was afraid to start this blog. I was afraid because I thought how can I do this
when I know my shortcomings and I let that fear take over and stop me from
doing what I really wanted to do. But today I guess I have slayed my Goliath
because here I am writing.
Now I am not entirely sure how these weekly posts
are going to go or what I am going to write about. Aside from cooking,
travelling & photography, I do not have that many hobbies that I can write
about nor am I that vested in any of them to even dedicate weekly write ups to
them. But one thing I am extremely good at is being observant, a skill you pick
up when you are trying to keep up with everybody else so how about I write
about that.
How about I write about the various things I
observe and talk to you guys about it. I am good at telling stories. I will try
and keep it short because I do ramble on a bit; I have been known to write 3
paged letters. Please don’t judge me… if you read them you would know why they
are that long.
Anyway enough chit chatting, let’s do this. Welcome
everyone to Life According to My Rambles. .
...looking forward to this.
